Frisbee™ games
When you grow up in southern California, you play frisbee, that's about
all there is too it. I have no idea when I started throwing a frisbee around
but by high school I could do all the basic tricks. Once I got to college,
I played even more. There's something relaxing about just tossing a frisbee
back and forth. Once you have the basic skills down, it's so easy to experiment
with fun tosses; boomeranging; cutting around corners; bouncing it - anything
that strikes your fancy.
Of course my friends and I had to come up with new games; it's sort of what we
do. You'll find several of these games over on the
Cloud Kingdom Games
web site.
In case you were wondering, we have no connection to
Whamo,
the makers of the real (trademarked) Frisbee. We're using it in the generic term (even though they do
make the best general purposes ones). You can see their selection
here.
What kind of disc should you get? For general purpose throwing around, look for
something in the 165g to 175g range. They're heavy enough that the wind doesn't just
catch them and toss them all over the place; light enough that they're easy to
both throw and catch. If playing with littler kids though, drop the weight down
or use any of the small generic knock-offs around.
Now to the games. Click on a link to the left based on what sort of game
you're wanting to play then -- have fun!
